The 2030 Agenda

The 2030 Agenda is a new development approach that seeks to transform our world sustainably. The 2030 Agenda was established in September 2015 at the United Nations Summit on Sustainable Development and adopted by the 193 member countries of the Organization. This new agenda aims to end poverty, fight against inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030 by meeting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals:

Mexico's Role

By adopting the 2030 Agenda 2030 in September 2015, México acquired an international commitment with the compliance of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To guarantee a true appropriation of the Agenda at a national scale Mexico has developed, promoted and implemented several actions towards the transformation of the national context through sustainability.  To achieve such goal, Mexico has a specialized working team, a long-term vision and a constant follow up of the implemented actions:

This long-term sustainability project aims -through a clear strategy, a commited team and the right follow up- to fully comply with the 2030 Agenda. Due to this goal, a Monitoring and Implementation Organism (OSI) has been created in every state of the country to replicate at a local level the model and goals of the 2030 Agenda National Council for Sustainable Development.

INAI 2030

The 2030 Agenda and the SDGs represent the ideal development scenario for the international community.  Because of this and with the goal of complying with the SDGs, the INAI has become an ally through the creation and promotion of initiatives, policies and actions aimed to fulfill the sustainable development vision. This effort seeks to promote the development and reinforce the actions oriented to the strengthening of transparency an citizen participation practices that allow or facilitate the fulfillment of the 17 SDGs. Within this vision, we highlight the Open Government Metric, the local cocreation efforts and the National Transparency System.
